i just wish they'd get on with it and ut everyone out of their misery
the uncertainty must play a role in our shit performances - not an apology for Moyes - he's still culpable.

Steidten doesn't see anything in him, he wants Amorim

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Lopetegui appears entirely unsuited to the requirements of the post-Moyes era.

He has never really “built” a successful side. He inherited much of the squad that won the Europa League in his first season. It was also the hugely disrupted Covid-19 season - with most games played behind closed doors (including the UEFA final). The team he reformed gradually got worse after (as Nagel said) a promising start - and he eventually got sacked after just over three years.

Yet there’s a huge post-Moyes job to be done: our squad has got old, and slowly worse, together thanks to Moyes. Fabianski is 39, Ogbonna is 36, Cresswell 34, Antonio 34, Coufal 32, Ings 31 etc.

Paqueta may well be off to Man City, and other players have not made the grade.

Which is all why we’re getting thumped regularly.

If you look at the number of players who need to be moved on or replaced with younger talent, it’s at least a two-season rebuilding project.

Lopetegui has never managed anywhere for more than three years. Most jobs just two years. He lasted three months in Madrid - and threw a hissy fit at Wolves after half a season.

There’s nothing in his history that says he’s the man for a tough rebuild job at West Ham. Which makes you wonder what Steidten and Sullivan see in him?!

Amorim still won't leave till their season is completely over, as they still have the Cup Double to achieve. If we want him, we are still going to have to be patient. I'd be prepared to wait if we have a good chance of getting him, he's worth the risk. Not many about like him.

Also keep tabs on De Zerbi, I'd go for him if we have a realistic chance. Lopetegui would be the safety net choice out of all of them but understand if he choose to go elsewhere instead of constantly waiting on our 1st and 2nd choices as he's also decent, although not quite on their level.

He's been sacked for poor results from every single club he's managed. No cherry picking needed.

I don't think wanting to poach a winner should be too big an ask

Most bookies have suspended betting of next manager. You can still get 3/1 on with Sky if you want to print some money.

Of course Moyes should have gone by now, most reasonibly intelligent fans would no that. But whoever replaces him has a massive job in front of them.
The team needs at least 6 new quality signings this summer. The trouble it’s going to cost fortune and we’re not going to get everything we need.

Moyes will be leaving us in a very poor shape and next season will be tough.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Of course Moyes will now leave when his contract runs out in June. But if they appoint Lopetegui, don’t bet against the Ginger Nut returning for a 3rd stint at Xmas!

I get the problem with David Moyes. We all do. It’s turgid and the wheels have completely fallen off. Today was another unmitigated disaster.

But Lopetegui?

We can do a LOT better than the Spanish Steve McClaren.

He’d be sacked within two years. I’d lay a bet on it now.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Whoever is appointed has a tough job but the bigger issue here is that Sullivan should not be involved other than listening to the recommendations of the football people he employs.

You woukd think the bloke tasked with identifying and securing transfer targets would be the person making the call on a new coach? Steidten will be identifying a type of player to fit an overall approach that is envisioned? Good technique, speed and strength, good passing etc. for a team tgat wants to get and keep the ball better? No more Phillips, JWPs, Zouma’s, Souceks or Ings but young, hungry players with ability and huge development potential.

How can that work if the major shareholder has veto ( supposedly his 38% is enough to override anyone elee’s recommendations ) over who gets to replace Moyes . Its so dysfunctional and makes no sense. Sullivan taking a recommended manager ( not coach ) on the advice of his sychophantic agent Salthouse

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
I'm not keen on Lopategui at all, but it does seem like people are cherry picking stats and downplaying his achievements.

Sevilla had finished 7th and 6th in the two seasons prior to him joining. He got them to 4th in all his three full seasons there, the only time they've ever qualified for the Champs League 3 times in a row. He was sacked after 7 games into the new season and they finished 12th. This year they are currently 13th.

People also downplay what he did at Wolves, taking the bottom club at Xmas to 13th. He got more points per game than O'Neil has managed this year, but people wrongly think his successor has had better results.

All that said, I'm more concerned about the style of play than what is, barring his brief time at Real Madrid, a very decent track record of results.

What about the shit show he took over at Sevilla and what he achieved with them? Or the shit show at wolves and what he did with them? Now I’m not a fan but cherry picking his worst bits to suit your agenda is a bit rubbish.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Alfs, those games were largely draws. His problems towards the end was drawing too many games.

Not getting humped for 4/5/6 goals multiple times.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Sevilla won just eight of their last 34 games under Lopetegui. “There was a huge drop off from January onwards in performances and results,” explains Colin Millar, who reports on La Liga for The Mirror. “It was almost endless draws, an inability to win matches. There was a drop off in standards while the expectations went up.

Sounds familiar.

Anyone signing that petition or using the phrase ‘Spanish Moyes’ is a fucking retard.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
if its Lopategui then so be it. He does have success in Europe if not in the PL. There's not much say we have and to be honest I don't see a lot changing in terms of the club's overall ambition and our 'place' in the PL until Sullivan goes too. He just exudes toxicity.

Anyway, Moyes going is a closed book, Shirley. That performance tells us he's off and the players don't give a fuck right now. In fact I wouldn't delay and id hook him and give someone else the last two games.

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Lopetegui might not be anyone’s first choice, but to say he’s as bad as Moyes is ludicrous.

Moyes only allows his teams to play for 10 minutes if 1-0 behind. There is nobody as negative as him in world football.
